Commonwealth Tabletops Complete
The reclaimed pallet tabletop I did for Nookie’s new Kendall Square restaurant, Commonwealth, look amazing. He’s outfitting the restaurant with 4 different table sizes, with a total of 39 tabletops. A industrial-chic function room will feature four 32″ x 60″ tops, perfect for special events and food-related conferencing. The remaining tops, all super-sized to accommodate family-style dining, are combination of 26″ x 32″ and 32″ x 32″. Oh, and he’s going to use some vintage-looking reclaimed table bases, a barn find I think . . . which fit the design aesthetic perfectly.
He’s still a few weeks out from opening, finalizing details and getting things organized. The space is really quite incredible, I think. White-washed brick, reclaimed pallet slats and barn board as wainscoting, industrial pendant lighting, and some really awesome used school chairs in teal. Nice. He’s sourcing nearly all the design elements second-hand or from reclaimed sources. Sustainability is the word here . . . hopefully in a business sense, but I’m talking environmental and social sustainability. Really, really impressed. Can’t wait to get down there when he opens and see all the hard work he’s put in. Good luck.
